As far as I remember (I might be wrong) the Hungarian offensive from Baia Mare was the first which was initiated. The 2nd Romanian Border Regiment was reacting to the Hungarian offensive. The Romanian militia raised by this regent was not the same as the Romanian Landsturm. First, it was subordinated to the regiment, not the RNC from
sibiu as the landsturm and second, the fighters were former soldiers, invalids or semiinvalides of the regiment.

Andreas thanks for providing me arguments on what I said! As shown from what you wrote some Romanian militia was directly raized by imperial officers of Romanian nationality and used against Hungarians! It is natural that under these conditions the Hungarian Government should respond in force, defending the revolution and the state threatened by the insurgents! Anyone would have done the same!

What I was talking about and what do you answer? I was talking about Kossuth because you gave him as an example of goodwill and understanding to the rebelled population, and you answer that the Romanian militia was led by Romanian-born officers of the Austrian Army so it was natural that Hungarian army intervene... as usually you avoid the answers that you don't like! At the same time is absurd to believe that an officer (even with the help of dozens of soldiers -I just said so, in this exemple is not the case!) could raise whole villages, if the population was satisfied about her status! On the other hand to overlook the fact that in front of an uprising they (hungarian troops) burn houses and kill civilians don't make them anything better than the Austrian Army at Resita that you blamed!
