Hi all,
In 1940 or 1941, Romanian engineers with an expertise in the field of submarines were recruited by the Royal Netherlands Navy in the Netherlands East Indies. Does anyone have more information about this? The above is all I have and anything you can add will be much appreciated. Thanks, Visje |

The 2 Romanian Submarines build at Galatzi were a contract with the Dutch company Kantoor i Voos. After the war it was proved that in fact this Dutch Company was a German owned one, used for developing the German U boote design between the wars. Together with the blue prints for a torpedo submarine RECHINUL and for a minelaying one MARSUINUL came some Dutch technical assistents. There are some pictures with them in the Galatzi Yard. The best known and respected was dipl.eng Ericssen specialised in marine survey.
