I found an unusal note in a Rumanian document, related to a pilot instructor called Dumitru Masgras. Reportedly the airplane he was flying was shot down by error by Rumanian flak at Valea Marului, on August 27, 1944. His wife and son were also in the unidentified airplane. All aboard were killed.
Any further info? |

That is correct with some amendments - he was shot down over Poiana Marului (Caras Severin) and his wife Mia and daughter Mariela (2 years old) were killed at the same time. They're all resting in the Poiana Marului cemetery. I have a photo of their grave that I could upload.
Could you please share any additionall information that you may have about him please? Thanks! |

Thanks for the additional info.
I already listed above what I know about this incident. I am looking for the type of aircraft he was flying at that time. Was he a military man or a civilian? Thanks, Gen. Dénes |
