Why does it say "...a marelelui razboi pentru civilizatie 1916-1921"(.... of the great war for civilisation 1916-1921) ? From what I know the Romanian army served in WW1 from 1916 'til 1918. Could someone bring some light on this?

The Romanian was engaged in military actions after 1918, most notably in the campaign in Hungary in 1919, but also on the frontier with the new Soviet Union. In fact skirmishes with the Red Army occured up to 1923-24.

After 1918 Romanian Army continued military operations against the "Red" Hungarian Army.
edit: posted in the same time with Victor. As a sidenote, we can say that WW1 officially ended in 1921, when US signed the peace treaty with Germany, Hungary and Austria. |
