The 1877 Danube Cross has the "Traditia" bar, indicating that the holder of this bar was the officer son of an officer serving in the 1877 war.

"TRADITIA" medal bar. I have also seen this bar applied to the WW1 service cross.

Yes, as a recognition for the families with a long line of active officers, in a decree issued in 1939 it was specified that the Crossing of the Danube Cross and the Commemorative Cross of the 1916-1918 War can be inherited and worn by one of the descendants of the officer originally holding them, provided that he was also an active officer. These indirect awards were distinguished from the direct ones through the TRADIŢIE bar. |
