Today at 13:15 PM I saw the first episode of a very interesting documentary about the American bombing raids over Ploiesti, called "Zburatorii Romaniei" on Romania 1 (TVR 1) channel. Detailed analisys regarding the weapons, conditions and strategys involved are completed with a lot of archive movies, in a captivating "Discovery" style documentary. The colaboration of the National Aviation Museum and Military Museum is obvious and extensive. This episode also included an interview with a Romanian ace veteran who participated directly in the events as a fighter pilot.

The only downside is the comment (Romanian only, of course), thaugh well documented and comprehensive, the speacker talks too slow and sometimes unsinchronized with the images.

Over all a good documentary, definitely worth seeing. Has anyone else seen this episode? What do you think?

I'm also trying to find out when is the 2nd episode. I'll post the date when I'll have it.

A felow from Modelism.ro told me that the documentary they sold on cd-rom will air at TVR sometime in MAI ..... but maby this one was, i did not watch TVR, i have the movie from Modelism on cd and it begins whit a filming from a helicopter, and it is 26 minutes long, in one part.

I remeber that this movie also had vizual/audio desincronizations.

Nope, this is a larger documentary, only the first part was more than 30 minutes long. And it isn't made only of archive shots, it includes interviews, maps, strategy skems and recent footage. Quite impressive for a TVR1 show.
