According to the 1993 book by Safta, Rotaru, Velter and Marinescu, the oak leaf device was introduced only in 1943 and was to be worn only on the knight's, officer's and commander's ribbons of the Order of the Star and the Order of the Crown, both orders with swords and 'Virtutea Militara' ribbon.
