Do you want to know if the person to whom the sword belonged is known? Unfortunately no other information was available. |

I don't know the example of Lion's figure in Royal Romanian House's Crest. I thinh this crest look like the German type. Mihai |

I thinh this crest look like the German type.[/quote] The lions have been the tenants of the shield in the Romanian coat of arms since the 19th century. From this point of view, the engraving looks very much like the Romanian coat of arms from the time of Carol I, but on the other hand it does not seem very well done. My question was about the general appearance of the sword. It does not look like a parade sword, so it must be something else: either an official service sword or a sword privately made (then or more recently). |

Here is an image of a 2 lei coin from 1894 with the full coat of arms of Romania. In spite of the wear it can be seen that the tenants of the shield are two lions. |

Not quite. The image on your homepage is that of the Romanian coat of arms adopted in 1921, while the image on the coin above is that of the 19th century Romanian coat of arms. Among the differences, the central shield of the 1921 coat of arms has 5 partitions, while that of the 19th century coat of arms has only 4. |
