Does anyone has any knowledge of Romanian POWs in Palestine? In British Camps?
I have this card in my collection, and I was wondering if I could find out more about the sender? Was he in the Rommel's army? Or, an airman? Or, an interned civilian?

How do you know it's Palestine?

What happened to the Romanian pilot who defected to the Allies with a Ju 88 (see this topic)? Was he interned in a POW camp (in Cyprus or some other place)? I've heard that he was questioned about the Ploiesti air defences before the US raid on 1 August 1943. It is therefore possible that he might have been transferred to the Middle East.

It seems to be Palestine because of the censorship cancels. However, I am working on it and I will let you know what I'll find out.

The postcard in Italian makes me think it was printed specially for Italian POWs. The only clue regarding the location is the number of camp: 321/8. Some stamps are very dull in this picture.

Maybe a member of the foreign legion, captured during the invasion of Syria.

He defected on 22 July 1943, i.e., "just in time" for some intelligence gathering actions before the Tidal Wave operation. The date is also given on the Junkers Ju 88D page on the USAF museum site.
