\" Pinochio\" emblem (I am not sure if it's Disney character)

"After Snow-White and the Seven Dwarves (1937), Pinocchio was Disney's second feature-film (1940), adapted from a tale, based on Carlo Collodi's book."

In the book on ARR (title without the first 'R', for Royal), published by Modelism, the same photo is captioned as the mount of Adj. av. Dimache. Thus, Pinocchio was not a unit emblem, but a personal one.

There are some doubts about this. First who can be sure the pilot with the helmet could be Sgt.Dimache. His IAR 81C was shot down on june 23, '44 by Mustangs ( his chute fail ) and died. From my knowledge there are no more ex. 6 FG pilots today for indentifing Dimache in the picture.
Second, in the background of the PZL 11 C there is a big hangar from a school ( Ghimbav or Turnu Severin ) where this PZL 11 were used for training. Because all the cadet pilots used this planes they can't paint a personal emblem. The "Pinochio" also has a meaning for future pilots who learn for the first time to fly like Pinochio first walk on his wood feet.

You can ask Mr. Craciunoiu. Maybe there was something written on the verso of the original photo.

There is some logic to it, but unless we find at least another P.Z.L. P.11 with the same emblem (BTW, for that, first we have to find out the serial number of this particular airplane), we can assume it was only a personal emblem.
