Foreigners Serving in the Romanian Military

In the Imperial Russian Army, I have found that many Foreigners came to Russia and volunteered for military service. I have found many that were in the Russian Guards. Italian, Siam-Thailand. Did the Royal Romanian military have any Foreigners that served in their forces as well ? I recently came across an interesting photo of a Fruntas in the Mihai Viteazul Guard Regiment who is ASIAN. This person looks like he is from Russian-Asian, Mongol, Chineese of Origin. :?:

From my knowledge there were a few foreign imigrants integrated in our army. Now, it depends on your definition of foreigners. There were quite a few ex-Russian citisen that were actually Romanians from the Northern Moldavian provences (Bsarabia&Bucovina) who came to join in the liberation of their provences at the begining of the war. There were also Romanians who were Hungarian citisen or even Bulgarian.
Actual foreign volontaires were very few.

Abot the oriental looking soldier you're taking abot, it may be a simpler explination: inside Romania there are many ethnic minoritys, including Mongols (tatari), Turks and Russians (lipoveni), most living around the Danube (including the Delta) and the Black Sea shore. Most of these minorithys participated in the army as any Romanian citysen, as they consider this country to be their home too.

Many Mongols (Tatars) from Dobrogea served in cavalry units in both world wars. They were good cavalrymen and accepted as such.
