My grandfather was in november 1943 at school of reserve cavalry officers (Scoala de ofiteri de rezerva cavalerie).

I found the series of his weapon: 2201; 2485 and baionet 19235.

Can someone to identify what kind of weapon was my grandfather issued, and if it possible, can i have a pic of this weapon posted on this site, please?

1 month from the initial post and still no info from the weapons experts that I saw on this forum?

At least, can somebody to tell what type of weapon(s) was issued to a romanian cavalry cadet (elev-ofiter) in 1943?

I presume that it was at least a rifle, since I found out the serial number of my grandfathers bayonet...

I'm a bit confused but do you say that you have your grandfathers bayonet?

Generally for training in WWII were used Mannlicher 93 rifles so probably your grandfather had a M93 carbine; unfortunately the serial number doesn’t help too much many rifles had 4 digit serial number (VZ 24, Mannlicher 93 & 95, some Mosins from the WWII era) but before them were sometimes two letters that would help the identification. Unfortunately my knowledge on French rifles is very limited so I can't help you there.
