Well...all i know is that he was in an artilerry batery who bombarded Sevastopol. His name was Alexe Dumitru. He was born in the village Patru Frati, but he died when I was just 4 years old so i don't know too mutch.
My grandmother used to tell me the storyes she heard from her father when he came home from the western front. Yes he fought on the western front aswell...in Serbia said my grandmother. He came home with a notebook full of poems compossed by him, but unfortunately i could not find that notebook.
Does anyone know which artillery company fought in theese major battles?
Oh...my grandmother also told me that he was nearly killed by a shell which exploded several meters from him. He managed to get down in time.
That's all i know...

The following artillery units took part in the final siege of Sevastopol:

Regimentul 7 artilerie grea
Divizioanele 52, 54, 57 artilerie moto
Regimentele 35, 36 artilerie (divizia 18 infanterie)
Grupurile 1, 4 artilerie munte (diviziile 1, 4 munte)

My grandmother said that their guns where towed by horses. They also fought near the Kerci straits (?)

That would mean the artillery of teh 18th Infantry Division, which also saw combat on the Western Front. The other were either motorized or did not fight there (like the artillery of the 1st and 4th Mountain Divisions)

Can i find a list of soldiers who belonged to the 18th Infantry Division. Maby I can find his name?

Yes but what about the internet? Cant I find his batalion there. We are still talking about thousands of people. Too bad. It would of been nice to know my great grandfather better. Ah well...
