He was leader of the romanian national party. Caporal Group: Members Posts: 117 Member No.: 149 Joined: November 27, 2003	It was a general Tatarescu (commander of the 20 th Infantry division) who almost got shot because he flew out of the Stalingrad pocket. He was a knight cross winner, and had a Pro German attitude. I think Hitler save him from being shot. I am not sure however if it is the person you are looking for.

French ambassador in Bucarest mention this man like leader of a little far-right party (Archives of "Quai d'Orsay"). It's certainely this soldier. Do you have his first name ? And informations about him ? Thank you very much. ----------------------------------------------- Il était colonel en 1935. The commander of 20th Infantry Division was General Nicolae Tataranu, not Tatarescu.
