I have found some reports that Romania HAD a destroyer, the D-111 and have found like 6 different names for it. I understand it was heaivly modernized and borught back in 96 and even test fired but that was it. Where is it now? What does it look like? Any pictures?

NATO has decided that it is only a frigate. The two Type 42 British frigates bought recently will be named Regina Maria and Regele Ferdinand. All we lack is Marasti biggrin.gif

According to the MoD's communique, the Regele Ferdinand (ex-HMS Coventry) is presently undergoing tests in the waters around Portsmouth. It will sail to Romania in December. The Regina Maria (ex-HMS London) will be delivered in July 2005. Loks like we will have an interesting Navy Day in 2005. Will bring the camera! biggrin.gif

According to an interview published today on "Jurnalul National", chief of the Romanian Navy Headquarter, admiral (in fact "contraamiral") Gheorghe Marin says that on the 9th of September, on Portsmouth Naval Base, Romania we'll receive officially the command of the "Regele Ferdinand". The Romanian crew is in Portsmouth from 8th of July."Regele Ferdinand" will sail to Romania on the beginning of December.

It is too simple.... is some secrecy...

6 days of the week - 6 different names, for counter-espionage;
7-th day - no name, because everybody go home!

.... and, another secret - in night time, on the deck of the destroyer, captain screams: "DIVE! DIVE! DIVE!" ... and here you find the answer for another question, about the 3 names of our KILO class submarine: "Pandele", Delfinul and his nomber (for a period of time, bordage nomber, has only this nomber, and not real name).
:oops: :blbl: :x :roll: :arrow: ... bad joke! :beer: :laugh:

Sorry,

Iama
