Graf wore Romanian decorations. I have a quality photograph of him wearing Ro. medals. Let me get back home (im at college,) and I will scan it and post it here. In the book by Clemente Muresan, he mentions Graf as a great pilot, shooter, and "knight" with more then 200 aerial victories. a book in german language suggests he claimed 200 victories in 13 months. About what? Be more specific. If you are interested in Graf, just type his name in Google and you will get tons of links.

There is a large book published recently, written by Christer Bergström, titled: "Graf & Grislawski. A Pair of Aces":
There should be some stories from Rumania in that book. Gen. Dénes |

The III/JG 52 operated over Romanian territory in 1941. In August he received the Virtutea Aeronautica Order Gold Cross class for the air combats over Dobruja and the Romanian seaside |

The Royal decree is for several German airmen, not only for Graf and does not have a proprio motto besides the mention of those pilot's activity over Dobruja. III/JG 52 did score kills against VVS bombers in that area as did I(J)/LG 2. However, I do not know how many Graf claimed.

Lt. Hermann Graf did not achieve any victory over Rumania in 1941. His first confirmed victory was on Aug. 4, 1941 over an I-16 shot down 10 km S-SE of Kiev, in the Ukraine. Gen. Dénes |
