In countless romanian movies I noticed that the Virtutea Militara Medal WWI edition has a different ribbon, a light-blue with 2 white marginal stripes ribbon, but I could never find this variant on the net.
Some help would be great. HONOR ET PATRIA Ml. B. |

I would not pay too much attention to such details from the Romanian historical movies, as they are often quite inaccurate. As an example, in "The War of Independence" dealing with the events of 1877-1878, many officers are shown wearing the Order of the Crown of Romania that was established in 1881. The amazing thing is that the collaboration of three experts from the National Army Museum is mentioned in the credits of the movie (but maybe they were not experts in orders and medals).

Oooo Yes! The romanian movies are great, realy, I love to watch them. They have problems only with the "small historical details"!!!
In the movie "Burebista" ,one of the soldier wears a digital watch or in the movie "Fratii Jderi" you can see the electrical wires in the middle of the battle scene or trucks on the streets at the end of the movie!!.... The ribbon from the "virtutea militara"medal has not suffered changes !!! Only the medal, the ribbon was all the time the same! Attached Image |
