These are JagdKommandos - perfect, I will check my sources for Jagdverbande Ost and Sud-Ost.

Any info will be posted here ASAP.

The regiment was "Brandenburg" - the Wehrmacht's special forces... however, the formations were usually named after heir leading offcers. AFAIK, at least...

Please do not make a mistake between Brandenburg's 1944 Abteilungen (Under Abwehr AMT V control) , as per attached pictures, and the SS-Jagdverbanden Jagdkommandos.

a. Einheit Kirchner.
b. Abteilung Bockel.

Autumn 1944 - Skorzeny took over 1800 specialists from ZBV800, after their fall from grace (July 20 hit). He organised these troops among his already present Oraninenburg kommandos. Therefore, he created the SS-Jagdverbanden. Usually, they were comprised (pending upon the mission's needs) in small Jagdkommandos, named after the officer in charge.

More can be said upon the actions of these gruppen, and I will check my sources, and get back with data.

And what did I say? Skorzeny's forces used in december 1944 were mainly Wehrmacht, not SS! I researched that almost ten years ago, as my grad paper was about that German offensive, whose part was Skorzeny's action as well!

On the East front Skorzeny never used Wehrmacht troops. He used SS-Jagdverbande troops, and Brandenburg (Abwehr, not Wehrmacht).

I didn't know that, as I wasn't really interested about the Eastern front after reading Sudoplatov's oppinion regarding Skorzeny. It made me really nervous back then. mad.gif

One example: operations (agent infiltration into Romania) organised by Jagdverband Sudost, section E, and formations of the Zweierorganisation, sometimes acting in concert. KG200 dropped the first nine teams between October and December 1944. These operations were codenamed "Steinbock I-III" and "Regulus I-VI", the latter of which included Germans as well as Fascist Romanians (including Sima's personal secretary Ilie Smultea).

"Regulus" was run by Leutnant Alfred Piff, Mil D's expert on Romania.

More informations on SS-Jagdverband operations in Romania in 1944-45 to be posted soon.
