There is a book about one regiment from Orastie , Regiment no 64. Could be the same regiment and later renamed no 92 ?

There is no any continuity between the 64th Austro-Hungarian Infantry Regiment of Orastie and the 92nd Romanian infantry Regiment of the same town, except maybe the recruiting area of this unit.

according with THIS source, the Infanterieregiment Ritter von Auffenberg Nr.64 was recruited in Szászváros District (hungarian name for Orastie, literaly "the town of saxons") and had the following ethnic composition (in july 1914) : 86% Rumanian, 14% various.

I know I have probably asked this question at least a trillion times, but where the hell can I buy this for me very, very, very, very interesting book??? laugh.gif sad.gif
What reminds me: last summer (August 2007) I finally paid a visit to the Kriegsarchiv in Vienna and also looked around a bit also to see if I can find anything about "Romanian" regiments. I found out that the archive has a very good regimental fond about IR.2 (Brasso) with almost all regimental war diaries from 1914 to 1918. The archive library also has unpublished manuscripts of regimental histories of IR.51 (Kolozsvár), IR. 63 (Besztercse) and IR. 64 (Szászváros). Sadly I lacked time to check for other regiments. I particularly regret for not checking IR.43 (Karánsebes).

I apologise for my late response, HCM.
Hm... What did you mean to say? There is no bookshop, antique bookshop or museum in Romania (or Orastie) which would still be selling a copy of this book, which I would be most eager to buy?! Are you from Orastie, by any chance?

As I said in my previous reply the War Archive in Vienna (Kriegsarchiv) has in their collection an unpublished regimental manuscript which describes the most glorious episodes from the history of IR.64 (Szászváros) during the Great War from 1914 to 1917 (1918). Hope this helps.
