Thanks Dragos for the help :!:
The pictures were taken by Dan Melinte at Dicesare's house(had no time going too...). Ther's a model of a monument mada by an arhitect in order to raise him in Ghencea cemetery ,for the pilots that didn't deserved to be buried there and had thrown to the garbadge. If anyone has a better design it is welcomed. We hope to build it and we may need some sponsors... |

Is that an index finger pointing up?
I think a much nicer monument could be made, then this. There is the Aviation Heroes munument in Bucarest if you know what I mean, that man with one one wing up pointing skywards.. Something like that could be build, I think something similar to that kind of monument would look better. |

It's not a finger. I believe it's a bird in flight (well in abstract vision).

Der Maresal, I can't agree with you because of two problems : 1. The cost will be to high and the sponsors hard to find. 2. The space allowed in Ghencea cemetery for this monument is limited. A small one could be also nice look if the design is good. |

Any architects around?
Bogdan Patrascu is, but I don't know if he follows the forum constantly. I will contact him. Maybe he could help. |

Dan Melinte asked me to post some images here,
the first one is a memorial statue from USA, this images can be used as inspiration but i think we can do even better In the second image we see the profanation of MANEA IOAN ( Gr.6 Vt.) In the third image we see the profanation of Cpt.ROSESCU IOAN from Escadrila 53 Vt. who crashed his Hurricane on the eastern front in '41, probably the main reason of this profanation |

hmmmmm...You need ideas for a monument? I might have some. I'll tell you and I hope you will find them interesting. How about if you would place a flyers felmet with wings (like the UK SAS has its sign a dager with wings), ore you can make a simple one, just some plain old propelers put in a cros, or you can take the ARR emblem an put some wings on it.

This simple design is good, but the "bird" resembles too much the McDonald's logo to be appropriate for this monument. Why not put an eagle instead (similar to the one existing on almost all the WWI monuments)? |

i recently traveled from Bucharest to Bran, via Brasov, and i've seen many monuments and i must say that the most impresive for me was the one arm solider that throws a grenade (Busteni), and not because is like an action figure but becouse the monument traps the esence.
The monument must be somthing more expressive for the future generation to understand somehow the scale of theyr grand-fathers devotion for defending Romania's borders and safety. An abstract monument rises difrent ideas in diferent people. |

The idea is that the monument cannot be big ,because in ghencea is no place avilabele, since the "heavy generals" that never fired a shoot must be burried there in large crypts.
The monumenet shouldn't be very expensive, because he'll became a source of materials for other graves. Everything should be as simple as posible! |

In my opinion, this simple design reminds of the style of the monuments of the 1940s (except the "McDonald's logo"). I see this as an advantage because it relates to the period in which the pilots fought.
