One of the biggest ones was certainly Niculae Malaxa, owner of the Uzinele "Malaxa" – later on "23 August", today "Faur" – etc.
Here is a short biography of him: http://www.csc.matco.ro/nmalaxa.html Gen. Dénes This post has been edited by Dénes on September 18, 2005 03:26 pm |

Almost at par with Nicolae Malaxa was Max Auschnitt the main shareholder of Reşiţa Works. Also important was Ion Gigurtu, the CEO of the Mica Group dealing in gold and other metals. Other very wealthy owners of capital invested in various industrial activities were: Constantin Argetoianu, member of the board of directors and manager of many corporations, Ion/Ioan Bujoiu, the CEO of the Petroşani Industries, the Chrissoveloni banking family, Aristide Blank, Dumitru Mociorniţă, Ernest Baliff, Oscar Kaufman, Ernest Urdăreanu and ... King Carol II (who was said to have been the most important owner of capital in the interwar Romania).
