It's a French Laffly fuel truck. Another SSA Laffly fuel truck near the Fleet 10G plane. Does any body know if Romanian Army or ARR used Ford AA/Gaz AA truck? This post has been edited by mgc151184 on June 24, 2005 04:30 pm |

Thanks Dragos. But when do you think were the photos taken? The truck's cammo seems pretty elaborate, it looks pretty impressive...
I think a good indicator if they were taken before 1941 or after 1944 would be the helmets. If there are with king Carol’s emblem/cipher on, then these are pre-WW2 photos. Maybe Cantacuzino could try to magnify them…? Also, is the AA mount similar with that used for the twin (4x) Russian Maxim MGs in AA role, or it is a different model? |

It is not excluded that the photos were shot during 1941-44. The tricolor cockade was rare, yet painted on some vehicles of the Army, such us the R-1 tanks.
I don't think the mounts are standard, because the AA weapons made of coupled machineguns were improvisations. And obviously the mount is different for various numbers or types of machineguns. The picture is unclear, but here they seem to be ZB 30 light machineguns. |
