Here's that fine Picture of Graf that I promissed.
He wears the Romanian pilot Bage on his right pocket. I believe Grislawsky also wears it, and I have an image of that too. The Caption reads: "Hermann Graf (212 Victories) was one of the most successfull Fighterpilots in the first years of the Russian Campaign. On the 2nd October 1942, he was the first pilot with 200 Victories. As he was later relocated to the Defence of the Reich, he was not as successfull and shot down only another 10 allied aircraft." From the same book, the caption reads: "Five Aces to be decorated with the Oak leaves to the Knight's cross" From left to Right: Alfred Grislawski (113 Victories, 109 of them in the east) [**Notice his ARR pilot badge on his right pocket), Emil "Buby" Lang (173 Victories, of these 148 in the east), was shot down and killed by Thunderbolts, September 3rd 1944. Günther Schack (174 victories, all in the east), Otto Kittel (267 victories in the East), was killed in combat with Il-2 planes, 14 Febraury 1945, and Anton Hafner (204 Victories, 20 of them in the west), in heavy battle with a Yak-9 on October 17, 1944 he collided on the ground againt a tree. |
