Jderul can be flown with Hercules?

Is Jderul too heavy for our Hercules? Or it is too tall to enter on Hercules cargo comp.?

I ask this, because, if i understand well, Jder is equipped 282 Mech. Bg./280 Inf. Bat. from Focsani. So, the question is - why we did not send MLI-84 Jder in Afghanistan?

Jderul can't be flown on a Hercules, it's too wide and high (3.3 meters versus 3.00-3.12m width of the cargo hold and 2.94 m high vs. 2.74 m space inside the Herc)
Besides it's not even economical to fly tanks IFVs and APCs with aircraft - although it can be done with C-17, C-5 Galaxy, An-124, ...
These large armord vehicles are usually transported by sea.

I don't know exactly why we didn't send MLI-84M Jderul in Afghanista, but I can think of a few reasons: it's too slow to escape from an ambush, and too thinly armored to survive RPG shots.

The Czechs deployed a few BMP-2 in Afghanistan and used them in a mainly static way, just for base protection - sitting or patrolling around the base fence and shooting with the 30 mm gun at the occasional taliban mortar / rocket launch teams

Jderul is protected similarly with a whelled APC, the advantage is in its mobility in rough terrain, and its bigger firepower. Tracked IFV were invented in order to have infantry keep pace with tanks advancing over the field.

But if you are patrolling mostly on roads, an wheeled carrier with maximal speeds of 80-100 km/h is better then Jderul with it`s maximal speed of 65 km/h. And with much better fuel economy, a very important point for logistic issues....
