I have read that in 1938 the Soviets were to send aircraft to assist Czechoslovakia in the event of her being attacked. I further understand tha tsuch aircraft were to proceed to Czechoslovakia via Romania.

Is this correct?
Did any Soviet aircraft reach Czechoslovalia?
Did any Soviet aircraft land in Romania?
Why did Romania allow this passage of aircraft?
Did Romania intend to supply any military assistance to Czechoslovakia?

Yes, such an idea existed. Not sure it was in 1938 or even earlier as a hypothesis in case Czechoslovakia was to be attacked. I think Titulescu mentioned it somewhere.

Czechoslovakia, Romania and Yugoslavia were allies.

Soviet Union had no common border with Czechoslovakia and had bad relations with Romania so getting permission from Romania to send aircrafts in Czechoslovakia was iffy.
