Very nice and interesting pictures,Iama, but this SMG is not the same with our SMG,even if both weapons is based in much part to AK.Our SMG is calibred to 9mm,and is a little much short and have a much long and right loader, sorry i dont have pictures with him.

It isn't the RATMIL. I had a photo found on a Czech site some while ago, but lost it when I accidentally formatted the HDD. I also remember seeing a photo of a gendarme in Kosovo with it in Jurnalul National some months ago.

Yes,this is our gun, thanks for the picture,Victor. And like others such weapons you can put on him(under barrel)a foregrip.a laser pointer or a lantern. And in the picture have a nice holografic optical device.I think is a good weapon for shes category.

Good news. While cleaning up after the dog, using aold newspapers, I stumbled upon that old issue of Jurnalul National from 24 March 2004 that contained the photos of Romanian Gendarmes in Kossovo, with the RATMIL SMG.

The weapon you are talking about is called L.P.7, manufactured by Cugir Ordnance.
I was a commissioned officer in the Romanian Gendarmerie Unit deployed in Kosovo and I had used this submachine gun. The weapon is as a matter of fact a modified A.K., whose so called gas piston was removed in order to decrease the weapon's weight and therefore the weapon-the L.P.7 turned to a delayed blowback or delayed inertia operated . Is a 9 mil Para(Luger) and is pretty accurate. The magazine's capacity is 30 rounds, has a normal grooved bore, the speed at the muzzle is considered to be around 385 to 390 m/s. Because of the increased rate of fire in this type of weaponry, the Romanian manufacturer added a muzzle brake in order to decrease the cannon throb. According to the weaponry armourers this throb, as a movement occured due to fire rate and bore length, could be pozitive or negative. |

Praetor, please, if you know, say what type of weapon carries the soldier in one of the photos above - one of the Victor's posts. Its that picture with soldier smoking cigarettes, more exactly not smg but about the weapon carried on the shoulder.
Thank you, Iama |
