I am familiar with http://www.sanko.wroclaw.pl/ since a good while. I am also know the magazine through a Czech friend who has some issues.
And yes, I also know the http://www.9-1939.pl site and its "Setember 1939 Forum", but I forgot to mention it. They have a nice selection of sites too, in their links list, including some Polish publishers and a model manufacturer (Mirage Hobby).
Cheers,

Ruy

OCZYWIŚCIE! Yes, I know it - I have it listed in my PC. It is a very good reference page and I am sure that our forum friends will find it very useful.
And yes, I like it mostly because of non-aviation related information! smile.gif

Edit: it has been a while since I visited the site for the last time and I just noticed that some items in the light weapons category return a nasty 404 error msg when clicked on... sad.gif

QUOTE (Florin @ Dec 6 2004, 07:12 AM)
What happened after September 1939 with the manufacturing plant Panstwowe Zaklady Lotnicze, and the Polish engineers, technicians and workers employed there?

Were the machine tools dismantled and moved to Germany, or the industrial plant was left in its location? If so, what German manufacturer took over it? During the German occupation, the factory produced just components, or complete planes?

With thanks in advance,
Florin

PZL WP-1 (Warszawa-Okecie): in the first weeks of 1940 most of machine tools was moved to Germany. The rest was used by four German aviation manufacturers (which ones? - I must check) to produce - for example - engines Argus, Jumo, BMW.
PZL WP-2 (Mielec): production of elements (wings, etc) for He 111, He 177, and He 219.
PZL WS-1 (engines, Warszawa): not in use during the war years.
PZL WS-2 (engines, Rzeszow): production of engines DB 600, DB 601, DB 605
Many smaller producents, and repair centres.
