Here is an incomplete list of the ARR ranks.
For explanatory reasons, I am adding the following: 1) The ranks from Sergent-major to Plutonier-adjutant are for the non-flying NCO that deal with matters such as training the conscripts, guarding (part of the guarding company of each Flotila), cooking etc. 2) The ranks of Maistru-militar (3rd, 2nd, 1st class and principal) are for tecknical NCO (NOT WARRANT OFFICERS), who deal with problems regarding airplanes, guns etc. 3) The ranks of Adjutant aviator are for flyind NCO. They pilot plaines. I am lacking the ranks for ofiţer de echipaj (they are warrant officers) . If anybody has some info on them please share. I know the ranks. My problem is how the ofiter de echipaj were represented on the uniform. On the attached document I gave a picture of all the ranks except the ones of ofiteri de echipaj. The document is quite corect. My great-grandfather was took part in WW2 as a member of the 2nd Bombardment Flotilla Guard Company and he confirmed these ranks in most part. Unfortunately he died at the age of 82 before I got to ask him about ofiter de echipaj. HONOR ET PATRIA Ml. B. |

Judged by the photos of the best known Ofiter echipaj cl. III av.fighter pilot, Ioan Milu, the rank symbol was identical to that of Sublocotenent (2nd Lt.), namely a single golden ribbon on the ARR uniform's cuffs. Col. Dénes |
