i don't wnow what happened to the plane, i heard it was damaged preatty baddly, an 88mm flack shell hit it verry close to the nose, Grigorescu desribes the situation verry emotionaly in his book "Bine ati venit in infern" also i have a friend who owns a short movie about the Tydal wave wreks, filmed prabably next day after the atack, and Brewery wagon and Honkey tonk girl are in this film.

The book himself was write to be emotionaly.

Great photo!

And that short film is a fragment from a bigger film shot whit allmost all the wrecks after the tydal wave ohmy.gif (it is posible to exist in the arhives of the nation television)

http://www.tvr.ro/org/arhivatvr/index.php

C2 is right, we probably need to pay for a copy of the movie, it only seems right.

Here's a gun camera taken at low altitude over a Wuerzburg station near Ploesti or Otopeni by a B-24 ......at the 6'oclock of the photographing aircraft or at viewers 12 o'clock an other B-24 can be seen approaching the station at a similar altitude, photo taken on Aug 1, 1943 ...photos courtesy USAF 44 Bmb Sqd book " Black Sunday" Ploesti

To anyone who may be interested, I have built last year the "Flack Alley" piloted by Capt. David W.Alexander which didnt take even one hit on the way to and from Polesti back to Bengazi.......eventhough I am not a model freek...I take a great pride of getting the tough task done ......by today none of the crew of "Flack Alley" is alive ( died of agging)

Cantacuzino

Where the heck did u get this coloured photo from .....is a pice of rarety!!!! There were a few shots taken in colour at the 44th Bmb Grp

NO its not the " FLACK ALLEY" which I've modelled......Flack Alley was on the Pyramiders...led by " Killer Kane " and piloted by David Alexander but I understand the confussion because the Europe map was painted under captain window on the fuselage of the WASH's TUB Too.

This aircraft was piloted by Lt James Bock and 2nd Lt Kenneth Snow

Do you have other Tidalwave aircraft , crews or target photographed in Colour ?

Thanks
Alex
