I am aware that this is slightly off-topic (timewise), but I have another question with respect to the development of a Romanian OOB for the PC game Combat Leader. The time-span of the game is 1930 to 1949, therefore will also include what-if's.

Now, for the pre-war (early thirties) possible ground attack planes, I only really came across the PotezXXV, and possibly the P.11 for strafing. Are there any others ?

For the post-war era, information on the Romanian Air Force seem to be hard to find for me.
Are these assumptions correct ?
The last remaining bombers (Ju87, Hs129) were retired after May 45.
The Me109 continued to serve 'til 46.
Gradually, the German fighters were replaced by fighters of Soviet origin.

What fighters were those and does anybody know when the were introduced ? The same for the ground-attack bombers. And how long was the IAR81 kept in service ?

Thank you very much, and sorry for this amount of questions, but I really tried to go though all sources I have at hand before.

Luer.

Dear sir,

I would try to tell you something that i read about.
I will talk about the Bf 109 G This type was retired from service in 1952. Untill then it was used for "alert" duties in case of a violation of the Romanian skies.

In 1951 Romania has 9 airplanes La-9.
In the same year the first jets enter service in romanian air force. Iak17 and Yak23.

For more information, i think that Mr Denes will help you.
Yours,
BM

PS Please excuse my poor English.

forgot to tell the source is "Les Messerschmitt Bf109 roumains" in AirMag magazine Hors série no1

Also untill 1948 the IAR 80/81 were in service. Gradualy it was retired from actif service the same year. It were modificated to IAR 80 DC (double command -- sorry i don't know the right name in English) and used in school duty.

The last IAR 80/81 were scrambled in nov/dec 1955.
