Yes, private Grigorie Ion was assisted by coporal Nica Vasile and sergeant Stan Gheorghe, but he was the one who took it. Candiano Popescu describes an episode with a captain Negoescu from the 16th Dorobanti Regiment who attempted to take the flag from Grigorie Ion and only the major's intervention stopped it.

General Cernat served two terms as Minister of Defence (02.04.1877-19.08.1877 and 19.03.1878-24.11.1878) and then was appointed Chief of the General Staff (1881-1882).

General Averescu served as Minister of Defence (13.03.1906-03.03.1909), Chief of the General Staff (18.11.1911-02.12.1913) and Prime Minister (11.02.1918-18.03.1918, 13.03.1920-17.12.1921 and 30.03.1926-04.06.1927). He is buried in the Mărăşti Mausoleum.

General Eremia Grigorescu presented with the 4th class of the Russian Order of St. George in January 1917

General Grigorescu served as Minister of Defence between 24.10.1918 and 28.11.1918. He is buried in the Mărăşeşti Mausoleum.
