It's interesting to know about the Romanian military awarded with German decorations. What had a Romanian soldier to do in order to receive a German decoration? :?:

They had to do the same as the germans also. The romanian troops fought under german leadership, so they could award german decorations also. But the conditions was very high. 18 romanian soldiers were decorated with the Knights cross, they were all high officers.
For example Mihail Lascar, he was awarded with the Knights cross on 18. January 1942 He had given his men a model. He leads an attack on the top of his men and this attack begans of his own decision. So this was a condition for the Knights cross. |

I'm starting to understand. So to earn a German Cross you would have to do acts of bravery and fight fearcelly against the enemy and give an example to your men. From all I know, all Romanian comanders fought in front of their troops leading their men.

Search the site in the Portraits section and you will find photos for Antonescu, Korne, Lascar, Mociulschi, Racovita, Dumitrescu and in the Operations section the photo of Maj. Palaghita. |

Hello Victor,
I knew that some photos of the romanian Knights cross holders are on this site. But I search no downloads from internet. I search photos in jpeg with minimum 400 dpi. I have very nice photos of Antonescu, Dragalina, Jonesco, Lascar, Manoliu, Mociulschi and Radulescu. Now I search photos of the other romanian Knights cross holders. So perharps somebody will change these photos in jpeg. |
