Do you know anything about supersonic fighters that allegedly was designed in Romania?
Two such projects are mentioned at http://www.deltawing.go.ro/iar93saga.htm where they have been referred to as the IAR-91 and the IAR-92. Apparently they were thought of in the 1960s as the designations are 'earlier' than that of the IAR-93. I have heard that a supersonic fighter was being designed in the 1980s. Best regards, Petrus |

I have already known about the IAR-95 and its planned variations. There are rumours, by the way, that this design influenced somehow the Chinese-Pakistani JF-17 (FC-1) fighter. It seems interesting as well that some people regard the Chinese JH-7 (FBC-1) as an enlarged copy of the IAR-93. Did Romanian engineers cooperate with China?
As for the supersonic projects, what about those from the 1960s. Does anybody have idea how they were to look and so on? Best regards, Petrus |

Romanians ask China to give engine of chinese variants of MiG 21, but thy dont want... China have a good secret service, or maybe past leader sell to chinesse blue prints of IAR. From what i read - use this link http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/fighter/fc1.asp was a project with MiG-21 at base. And China had enough experience with that - 2 motors. Iama |
