Settle down Alex, don't try to involve me in a contest of who found first something because I am not interested in getting merits from finding pictures on internet. And please. use the quote marks when you use a text from other source (see the text with the photo of Giurgiu, both from 150 sqd website) As for my "errors": I tell you for the last time: I quoted a book (Un secol de aeronautica romaneasca - A century of Romanian Aeronautics). It's true, I made a typing error (203 instead of 205) and didn't know that Boris FERDERBER is the name of a ROMANIAN pilot (but with Victor's help I found the truth). As for the killings and Ferderber, here is the exact quote from the book: "A ripostat Grupul de Vanatoare German, in care era incadrata si escadrila comandata de capitanul Boris Ferderber, care a doborat 8 avioane" "The defence was given by the German Fighter Group, including the squadron led by Boris Ferberber, which shot down 8 planes". So, give me a break: once again I explain to you that from the Romanian sentence one could understand anything like the entire german fighter group downed 8 planes, only Ferberber sqd downed 8 planes or even that Ferderber alone had downed 8 planes. Strictly judging by the commas in the sentence, the kills were made by the group (not by sqd or Ferderber!). Conclusion: I think any topic is interesting in this forum but is not my intention of arguing or competing with anybody. Barbosu |

Sorry, Cantacuzino,
Great pictures you have. Can you share the story of finding those pieces and maybe the story of the Wellington shot down near Bucharest? Cheers, Barbosu |

Barbosu
I am not into any contest with you or anyone on here, to be more precise it's you who's trying to put a coma on who found what , a fact which I repeatedly noticed for quite a while about you on this forum. I am neither into your topics nor I think there's something you need to teach me on here , basically what I wana say is that you need to double check the reliability of your messages before you post them .... such as 8 Wellingtons downed in one night by Luftwaffe , a pilot name who never exsisted at Luftwaffe .....etc etc Finally my military aviation background allows me sufficiently tell ya this : take your own medication and COOL OFF ! Make sure you know what you talking about prior you telling me to settle down and clean on front of your own threshold before complaining about the others ... reffrain from contacting me if you do not know how to express yourself politely in English, as I am not gone take your language anymore and stup at this level at all.... Also given the short time u've joined this froum, keep in mind the decency is a must on here... no matter the nationality of the member . Ultimately, I and not you Sir , started this topic and u've posted stuff on here which is not accurate at all and which created confussions....so please open a new topic of your own and post in there whatever you think it makes you happy, I certainly won't post confusing stuff in your topics ....and now take it easy and watch your language should u decide to respond this post. Barbosu, no need to be so jumpy and defensive, especially since several people presented you with facts that prove that some of the info in the book you mention isn't correct and a much more detailed source has been pointed out. You will be surprised how much false information can be published in some books and generally it is advisable to double check the stories, when possible, especially when they are controversial.
Alexkdl don't be so hard on Barbosu, as he probably doesn't have the possibility to check all the information he finds for the first time. People do make mistakes. Furthermore, this topic doesn't "belong" to anyone and everybody is free to post here. OK, let's move on. |

In the article titled "THE YAKOVLEV YAK-9", by Chuck Hawks
(the link is http://www.chuckhawks.com/yak-9.htm ) there is the following mentioning: The Yak-9DD was an even longer-range version (up to 1,367 miles). It was used to escort U.S. heavy bombers on shuttle missions against the Romanian oil fields, and also over Italy and Yugoslavia. This leads to a question: As far as you know, there was ever a recorded collaboration / synchronization between the Soviet Air Force and the U.S.A.A.F., before August 23, 1944? |
