This item is on ebay. I have a similar helmet at home but I don't know from what period they are. I think they are ww2 paratrooper helmets, but I am not sure.

There were no paratroopers in WW1, so you can eliminate that as a possibility.

Maybe was a helmet for observes from captive baloons? Because from what i know, in ww1 parachutes for airplanes crew were not used in high nombers, and for romanian crew planes i dont heard/read about something like that. But, i read about observation captive baloons - Caquot, for sure, had somethimg like parachute - a piece of the baloon himself. Iama |

It seems more like the general model of helmet. I don't see any geat differences.
