I red on Victor's site that some 75 Bf 109 fighter planes were buit in Romania after August 1944.
Were this brand new planes, or rebuild ones? The engines were also build in Romania? Anyone knows more about these planes (production data, service data, etc)? |

Yes some of them were new planes,some were rebuilt from "canibalized" airplanes.Engines were asambled also in Romania. |

The batch of 75 Bf 109Ga-4s & Ga-6s were started to be built at the I.A.R. Brasov Plant well before August 23, 1944 (in early 1944, IIRC). These were all new machines, made of new parts. However, the percentage of parts actually manufactured at I.A.R.-Bv. and those imported from Germany is not yet known. These 'Gustavs' were marked 301-375. Their original German Werknummern is also a mystery...
