Where would I be abel to find info on a particular Romanian Colonel, or the unit/section he was in?
This is Constantin Maxim, my greatgrandfather. He lived in Galati, and i belive he was a Granicer. As you may have noticed he was decorated with the Romanian Star and Saber. He's the 3rd one from the left. Maybe some of you have seen the second picture before. |

Can you make a close up photo of the second picture ? The uniform he is wearing is late 1930's-1940 period Captains uniform and looks to be Infantry. Graniceri wore light green colar tabs ( cannot tell from black and white photo ). Graniceri also wore a light green aquilette. These photos sho no aquilettes being worn so I cannot tell if this is a standard Infantry uniform or that of Graniceri. Perhaps you have a later photo of your Grandfather during the war ? This is were he may had the rank of Colonel. Any photos of him in full dress uniform with any regimental badges ? This would help further in identifying from what unit.
