Ok Victor. I don't want to pass over the rolls of this forum.
The color photos are from Edbad WWII aviation in colors and the photo with Adj. av. Stănescu Mircea is from pilot's collection a friend of mine. |

Nein Alex! It's Agfa Color film, it was better then Kodak for it's day and easier to use. Kodak color film technology that was easy to transport became available only towards the end of the war. Germans developed color film much much earlier, way before the war, and the clarity of some of the images is impressive. But - !! ... A Russian developed color photography, .way before world war 1. I have images in color from 1905 that are maybe 5 times as better and clearer then those Stuka photos.. would you believe it? And speaking about color film and aviation... Here are photos shot with Agfachrome 35mm in 1939-1940 in Finnland. This post has been edited by Der Maresal on January 25, 2005 04:26 am |

What plane could be the one in photo with the cockpit pilot with wheel stick. It looks like an inline twin engines plane ( a capture russian ??) Indeed nice AGFA color pictures. This post has been edited by Cantacuzino on January 25, 2005 12:02 pm |

I little known episode, which actually I learned it from Victor when he answered to me (once upon a time) to one of my posts in Feldgrau.net, was the support offered by Romanian Stukas to the Romanian troops fighting at Paulis (south of Transylvania) against Hungarian and German troops, after August 23, 1944.

Color photography was invented in the XIXth century. The first method for Fax transmittal was also patented in the XIXth century. The method of electro-plating (creating a layer of metal, on the surface of a metal object, using the flow of Ions in a liquid) was invented 2700 years ago. The methods of Mathematic Analysis, which we learned in school that were created by Euler in the XVIIIth century, were developed for the first time by Archimede, in the 3rd Century BC. Smart people were always around... The only problem is how fast they can persuade the other people to use their inventions, and how soon the other people will forget the invention after the death of the inventor. What number did Stănescu's plane have, how was it painted/coloured and what (if any) special insigna (slogans/ drawings) did it have? |

Below is a 1/72 scale model of the romanian Ju-87 D-3 with nr. 7 model. This model is from my collection and was made by Ungureanu Călin, a friend of mine.
You can see also the name "Boanţă" (perhaps this was after the name of Gh Boancă from Group 6) painted on the nose of this romanian Stuka. Attached Image |
