That article on how to 'deal with terrorists' is not the only one of it's kind.
Here is more evidence of that .. "Posters" (and they are not made anywhere else but in USA)! biggrin.gif

I don't find the smoldering ruins of Bagdad cool at all, really.. It reminds me of "other" cities that "were" in ruins.. dry.gif

Great posters really,... funny too, but I fear there is some Truth behind all this humor.. The exact kind of talk I see on american tv, and find it less and less funny.

Iama, the pics are great... but I dont get it. They mostly depict the 2 towers and the Pentagon, why dont they show WTC7 too? That would at least dispel some conspiracy theories about that building...

take care

American Way.. American Style... American army dealing with ... garage doors? But is a small price to pay when Marines guard your peaceful sleep, life style, the way your taxes provide him with money to use devices who make interferences with your remote controled garage doors...

Land Mobile Radios May Interfere with Garage Door Opener Controls

Source: US Marine Corps

"MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va. --- After a long day at the office, sitting in your driveway, would you ever think that a group of Marines 30 miles away conducting a field exercise could prevent your garage door from opening? It just might happen!

Residents living on and near Marine Corps Base Quantico may experience interference to their garage door opener controls that may reduce the operating distance or cause the remote device to stop operating entirely.

This interference results from the Department of Defense-mandated conversion to “narrowband” systems for Land Mobile Radio.

The LMR systems operate on the same frequency as many garage door openers, and are necessary to meet DoD homeland defense mission.

“This is going to allow the military to interact more efficiently with the local authorities and beef up our nation's command and control,” said Chief Warrant Officer 3 Chris Woehler, C4 logistic officer, Communications Electronics Division. “With the current system, if there was an emergency and we had to communicate with the local authorities, we would have to either borrow one of their radios or they would have to take one of ours for us to communicate. The new [Enterprise] LMR system will allow us to communicate better with other first responders and eliminate having a guy running around with 12 different radios.”

MCB Quantico began the transitioning to the Enterprise LMR system in early March and will begin testing the new system Monday.

This LMR transition complies with a 1992 Congressional law, a subsequent 1993 mandate and a 2001 DoD policy, which requires DoD Land Mobile Radio systems to operate more efficiently.

According to a DoD report, this conversion at military bases around the country will foster a more efficient spectrum use while continuing to protect national security. LMR operations are critical to ensuring that the DoD meets its homeland defense mission.

“This is not going to make your garage door start going up and down,” said Maj. Gerald Miller, communications officer, communications electronics division. “For the ones that are affected, the frequency will act like a jammer, disabling your remote opener device. You may have to get closer to the garage door for it to operate or you may need to manually press the wall-mounted button.”

According to a public notice issued by the Federal Communications Commission, garage door openers operate legally under Part 15 of the FCC rules at very low power on an “unlicensed basis”, and have been permitted to operate on frequencies that have been reserved for the federal government since World War II for air and ground communication systems, but were allowed limited use by the government.

The frequency range in question is 225 to 400 megahertz, which is vital to DoD. DoD is fully licensed in this band as a primary user with rights superceding those of any other user --in particular, unlicensed Part 15 devices like garage door openers.

According to a DoD report, garage door openers and other unlicensed devices usually operate in the 380 to 399.9 MHz range. This frequency range, which falls under DoD's licence, is the one at issue here.

“The range of the people that might be affected is from Fredericksburg up to Crystal City, as far west as Independence Hill, all the way to Charles County, Md.,” said Woehler.

According to FCC, the unlicensed devices have no right to protection from interference. However, because of previously limited use, the risk of interference was similarly limited, so manufacturers of garage door openers chose these frequencies for their transmit and receive devices. In response to the increased needs of homeland security, DoD now must make use of these frequencies.

According to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, it is not possible to predict in advance which specific users or locations near military bases may experience interference, because of the variety of technical characteristics of garage door controls and configuration of the mobile radio systems.

DoD is working with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration to make a reasonable effort consistent with their mission requirements, and the FCC is working with the garage door opener industry to make every effort to minimize the impact to consumers.

All Part 15 devices come with a manufacturer's label stating, “This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: This device may not cause harmful interference; and this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.”

Interference should not affect wall-mounted push buttons, according to the FCC. In some cases, garage door opener manufacturers have made replacement transmitters and receivers that operate on a different frequency available for purchase. Consumers experiencing interference should contact their garage door opener manufacturer. "

My opinion : *** in 10 - 20 years they will forget.

They use the word "Freedom" like it's nothing - "Freedom fries" "Freedom hamburger" "Freedom fighters" "Freedom coffe"

And the "American way" to answer terrorism is to bomb the shit out of every city or village in a country...

I can't imagine how a person like that got elected... whit 50.5 %...oh I can..
Bush is a moron but he has an excuse ... he is a peasant ... " howdy dudy mister Prezisent Heu ar iou in mey fein cauntry ? "
