It depends on what are you relying:
- quality: Nebelwerfer - quantity: Katiusha |

In his 3 years on the Russian front, my grandfather could witness Katiusha many times. It was very spectacular, indeed, but not too precise. I think its best use was to raise the morale of the Soviet troops, and the best hope was to lower the morale of the enemy.
Once waves of Katiusha rockets fell in the mud, and they did not exploded. I saw in the 80's a Soviet movie about how some German commandos tried to recover a Katiusha carrier truck, sunk in a shallow lake. The action was invented, but I would say today that it was also funny, considering all unique weaponry available to the Germans. Something smart developed by the Russians was a portable rocket launcher, to be used by the paratroops. You know all those German "Panzerfaust" and "Fastpatronen", or the American "Bazooka". The Russian weapon was developed few good years before these. |

About the portable Russian rocket launcher I mentioned in the previous post:
"76-mm batal'onnaya dinamo-reaktivnaya pushka Kurchevskogo" "76 mm battalion dynamo-reactive cannon by Kurchevskiy" See http://www.winterwar.com/Weapons/SUartille...ery.htm#special The link gives you 2 photos and much more information. You'll see in text that it could be used also without that shield and support shown in photos, so it was a really portable weapon, with a range of 6.5 km :!: |

the nebelwerfer being tracked was probably not so mobile as the katyusha but in the late war years , the nebelwerfer was actually tubes strapped to half-tracks ... they were thus more mobile ..
although the katyusha did inspire fear it was very unacurate , in the movies where it is shown firing , u see every 7-th rocket going in another direction , and that was just from the launching ... the nebelwerfer was much more accurate .. |

Well...it depends: - Katiusha rosckets where thin stabilised (like an arrow) - Neblewerfer rockets where spin stabilised (just like a bullet) I do not know which one was more accurate... |

Well, the Katiusa is in use even today,so.....
It's a similar question, like the PZ6 and T-34! It seems like the quantity has much more to say then quality. |

C-2 was referring to the 1300-1310 series (which had stayed in production in different forms for 35 years and 1,970,000 were made). Dacia is still producing the Logan, Solenza and Pick-up models. Any way :offtopic: |
