General de corp de armata Group: Banned Posts: 1809 Member No.: 373 Joined: October 22, 2004	In similar to the Army site of this forum I would like to start a thread posting some personal photos I will get from my my uncle from his Anti Aircraft garrison unit near Ploesti less ARR oriented as he was a Doctor Captain , some from friends and some available on Internet resouces though totally new for me. Maybe you can identify the photos as just in case they weren't posted yet as I haven't seem them yet , in respect to the year and name of the pilots and officers around. If you saw the photos maybe you care to let me know when were the photos taken and based on what events. I am starting with those I found at a Pilot Badges site on Internet about ARR and I am stunned who furnished him these old and yet good quality photos. Soldat Group: Members Posts: 30 Member No.: 496 Joined: February 04, 2005	Hello Alex, it seems that on photo No.5 first pilot on left and first pilot on right are from Royal Yugoslav Air Force. I'll doblecheck again but flying badges on the right side and royal amblems on their hats together with familiar uniforms ... It was probably some aero show or something similar or official visit. General de corp de armata Group: Banned Posts: 1809 Member No.: 373 Joined: October 22, 2004	Yes Aleks indeed , the pilots wings are of Yugoslavia....the right Yugoslavian pilot wears also ARR King Carol pilot badge, while the ARR pilot under his left pocket under the ARR Observer badge, he wears a strange badge I try to identify but I can't because is not clear, is as big as the Bulgarian AF pilots badge Let me know Alex This post has been edited by alexkdl on February 06, 2005 03:37 pm

Admin Group: Admin Posts: 4350 Member No.: 3 Joined: February 11, 2003	It seems to be the badge of the Military Academy graduates. The German general shaking hands with gen. Emanoil Ionescu is Otto Dessloch, CO of Luftflotte 4, to which the Romanian 1st Air Corps was subordinated.

I was just start wondering about badge that you identify as ARR King Carol pilot badge, very nice piece indeed. I think that period must be late thirties maybe even1940. I’ll ask around but I’m not convinced in positive results about place, date and occasion. Anyway it’s nice photo. Speaking of badges, right lower badge on ARR pilot could be of Bulgarian origin considering dimensions, but as you say photo is not too sharp for precise definition, at least from my point of view. I’ll be free to ask you if there is any more material in your collection related to Royal Yugoslav Air Force in one way or the other. Thank you in advance. Cheers, Aleks

As a matter of fact is VVKJ / Royal Yugoslav pilot's badge! Note four letter "S" on the shield at the bottom of badge together with checker and moon with star. And Nemanjic Dinastu crown at the top. It's Yugoslav badge by all means! Cheers, Aleks

As Victor said, the badge worn by the Romanian pilot on the right side of the breast is that of the graduates of the Military Academy.
