Here is an interesting photo from the late 1930's. It is a photo of a graduating class in a course for turbine motors at the Royal Aeronautical Academy. What planes had Turbine motors ? |

The flag looks Italian to me, not Romanian.

Maybe a better resolution photo could help a little bit more. But I agree with Victor: the flag looks the Italian one, used until 1943, with the crest of arms of Savoy and the crown. The uniforms look Italian too. But unfortunately the photo is too small to make a positive identification of the rifles... Can't really see if these are Carcanos.

Denes, yes, to me looks like Italians ( based on the flag) and looks like the Italian Navy ceremony ( according the caps and tunics) Al This post has been edited by alexkdl on January 22, 2005 05:34 pm |

Well no one still answer the question... let's leave the problems about the flag and focus about what planes had turbines in late of '30
As I know the Me-262 had his project done an the begining of the '40 but Hitler suspend the building of it till '43 if I don't get mistake... The British had their Gloster Meteor but that did'n flew before 1940... So, what was the plane that should be equiped with that engine? And what is the name of the engine?
