I'm glad you've got the point, Cantacuzino.

Dan,
Among all, I posted question about serial numbers of captured Yugoslav Hurricanes so I can help you and other Rumanian colleagues to solve the “fabric/metal” problem. You ignore it, and in your next post you said that you are waiting for serial numbers of metal winged Yugoslav Hurricanes from me, and then you will “know” what’s going on. OK. I posted serials of Yugoslav machines. Without any comment or answer from you. What was the reason of asking for such info if you don’t have serials of Yugoslav machines sold to ARR? What kind of opinion do you have about me? Not so nice it seems … Or maybe you have more important thing to do then answering me? Aleks |

Aleks and All
I don't want to interfere the discussions with this message , though I think Denes and Dan despite their differences they are both well qualified , none of them are lacking technical knowledge , historical backgrounds nor running out of resources. Also you Aleks seems to be well motivated into the subject u've commenced ....I suggest that you avoid getting personal with Dan ...I've noticed since last week that there's an increased general tendency on here to become grumppy and jumppy for every point or comma....draw fast conclussions and rather steer into ping-pong controversies than concentrating with the topics started .... Getting too personal spoils the soups and affects the moral on here. I strongly ask you as well the others on here to drop emotions aside , cease getting personal regarding small details and stop acting like women doing occassional snap shots , keep the spirits up for the benefit of the subjects we deal with . Thank you ! Alex This post has been edited by alexkdl on February 23, 2005 04:21 pm |

C’mon Alex,
I’m not five years old. I’m well aware what’s going on between two of them. And to be frankly with you I don’t give a damn. It’s between two of them and forum is not the place for it. I helped as much as I can and to be honest with you it seems to me that serials that I posted clearly indicates that all three VVKJ Hurricanes were with FABRIC covered wings but it also seems that someone doesn’t like it. From my point of view that’s the only reason for being ignored. There is much more data in my archive that can help in solving the ARR Hurricane problems but unfortunately not on this forum. I deeply apologize if I ever offended anyone of my Rumanian colleagues. With deepest respect, Aleksandar M. Ognjevic, B.Sc.aecc PR Manager ROYAL AIR CLUB Belgrade SERBIA Over & Out |

C-2, as I mentioned earlier, I learned it from you that I was included in the Aeromagazin's list of contributors - without my knowledge and approval.
BTW, I didn't know either that I am in such an illustrious company... Gen. Dénes This post has been edited by Dénes on February 23, 2005 08:41 pm |

Sorry Aleks, i forgott to thank you for posting the serial numbers for Yugoslav Hurricanes with metal wings. All i wanted it's to know if are close with serial number for romanian Hurricanes with metal wings. This yugoslav 12 Hurry were bought after romanians ( judging by serial numbers). I also thank you for helping us with fabric wings issue for the 3 Hurry ( from Yugo). As for your request i don't have the serial number of yugoslav Hurry in romanian air force. For romanian Hurry i 'v got the information about serials numbers from a british source not romanian. Also i didn't saw pictures with romanian Hurricane with number 13, 14 or 15. The largest number was 12. I appreciated very much your knowledge about yugoslav aviation history and if i didn't answer to you in time was not a personal intention from my part. Many people ask my to help with info and some times i can't answer them as quick as they want because i have to double check the data. ( and you see in this topic how some generals sent me to court martial if 'm wrong ) If i will get any info for the issue with yugoslav planes in romanian air force i will let you know. Good luck in your reserch work, Dan. |

I believe the numbers Aleks gave you are the Yugoslav A.F. serial numbers (broj numer), not the original British serial numbers. Thus the two cannot be compared. ARR Hurricanes with tail numbers bigger than 12 are mentioned in documents (for ex. 15, IIRC). Gen. Dénes |

Reading some post about HC in ARR I want to add something.
In 2001 was edited my book about Hurricane in Foreign Service (Including ARR and VVKJ users in WW II), there you may find data about serilas of used by ARR and VVKJ. In Belgrad Zemen was captured BR.2347 in perfect condition, probably it was one of HC send to ARR, there were aslo stored on the same airfield 4 more licence HC. There are to nice photos presenting this HC. VVKJ used own serila for British one were BR.2331-2323 and for licence build BR.2324 -2348.) Such a question as fabric wings, I can not solve, not so precise datas, photos are a few mostly form one side. Regards Mirek Wawrzynski |
