Victor had this good idea to start this topic about military diplomas and I have the honour to post the first two of them, which belonged to my grand-uncle and my grand-father.
This is Major Moisescu Ioan's brevet for 25 years in military service. It is dated 2.06.1945 and signed by the minister of war from the Dr. Groza Government. I admire the beauty of this offical document even it is not a very important one, just a "honorary sign". People were getting respect for their lifetime dedicated work and I wanted to share this document with you. In the text is stated that HM King Michael confered him "Semnul Onorific" (Honorary Sign) for 25 years of service. This post has been edited by Barbosu on March 03, 2005 10:25 am Attached Image |

And this is my grand-father Lt Mircea Chifulescu's Decoration Brevet of "Coroana Romaniei in gradul de cavaler cu spade si panglica de virtute militara" (Knight of the Romania's Crown with spades and military virtue ribbon).
Unfortunately the description of his bravery is too general: "for army deeds against the germano-hungarians", but I hope I will find out more. Both Moisescu and Chifulescu's pictures can be seen in page 4 of the topic on "portraits of romanian soldiers" Cheers, Barbosu This post has been edited by Barbosu on March 03, 2005 10:36 am Attached Image |

The award certificate and the badge of the Order of Michael the Brave belonging to Capt. Gheorghe Frumuşanu of the 33rd Dorobanţi Regiment. It was mentioned that they have been damaged by fire during a bombardment in March or April 1944 (from eBay).
