Hi Guys,

Non-German helmets were widely used by the Germans, but only amongst rear area units not likely to see front line service.

For example, I have never seen a Romanian Dutch-pattern helmet for sale in the UK, but I have seen a shop in Peckham with several original Dutch helmets for sale, all of which had been painted black and used by German anti-aircraft crews.

For what it is worth, my guess is that the photo shows members of one of the four RSI divisions.

This soldiers can be member of the italian ss unit, which used italian equipment but german uniforms, a mix of items that can be the answer to this photo.

Another option is that the second helmet may be a danish one.
