Hi Guys,
Non-German helmets were widely used by the Germans, but only amongst rear area units not likely to see front line service. For example, I have never seen a Romanian Dutch-pattern helmet for sale in the UK, but I have seen a shop in Peckham with several original Dutch helmets for sale, all of which had been painted black and used by German anti-aircraft crews. For what it is worth, my guess is that the photo shows members of one of the four RSI divisions. Cheers, Sid. |

This soldiers can be member of the italian ss unit, which used italian equipment but german uniforms, a mix of items that can be the answer to this photo.
Another option is that the second helmet may be a danish one. |
