Yesterday, driving to Breaza I have seen at Baicoi, on the left side of the road, an American Studebaker 6x6 WW2 truck. Unfortunately I had no the camera and I drove to fast to stop and better see that surprising vehicle. It is painted in funny colours: blue, green, red and it seems that it is used like a kind of advertising for the opposite restaurant.
A few years ago, someone told me about an American WW2 truck, somewhere near Ploiesti, the owner would intend to exchange it with a Dacia automobile. Could be the same vehicle?.
Does anybody knows more about this truck?

The truck is for sale. The former owner died, and the guy who bought the house took it with the truck in the yard. The vehicle was used in the past to some of Nicolaescu movies

I got the info by phone from some natives in Baicoi. The vehicle is still running, it ran in the actual location by itself (with the driver, ofcourse biggrin.gif ).I will ask more details , including price, and I will post them as soon as I get them.

What? mad.gif 8000 euros? wacko.gif Only if it had been restored and I doubt it. The owner says only that the truck is only in working condition nothing about being restored.

Here is a site with military vehicles for sale: http://www.milweb.net/index2.html

Now there are 2 truck’s in good condition (with picture) for sale for les then 8000 euros.

Mihnea,

It is restored in rainbow colors ( a special WWII camo biggrin.gif ). But maybe in the (8000 euro) price it's included also the house and the courtyard where was found. tongue.gif

Chevrolet or Studebaker truck? . The cabin looks like rom. Ford truck. Mixed components from 3 types, a Frankenstruck ? Here are some pictures courtesy Bogdan Popescu.

After me is a Chevy, maybe in papers is Studebaker. I remember that with 10 years ago the owner called me an the offer was for a .... Steyr truck. The price si crazy, 2000 is more for a such vehicle, the wood parts are from a romanian SR military truck from 60's, if you decide to entry on this field you must be careful.....

Hello friends:
The truck in question is a 1 1/2 ton Chevrolet that has been a bit modified over the years. Studebaker did not make this exact style of truck in 4X4 model. Theirs were 6X4 and 6X6 models.
Cheers
Bill
