I have to apologize.
I made a confision regarding the Italian pilots in Salz. It was a missunderstanding because the similar names of Greceanu Stefan and Greceanu Teodor. Acording to Dicesare there were 2! Ruspolli. But they may have been cusins and not brothers. And some other Italian pilots. Dicesare who speeks Italian, was in good relation with them. That's how he got his Italian pilot certificat. The Italians came with a large transport plane, who carried mechanics, spare parts and food. The italians were good pilots but didn't do much dammage to the Soviets. One day after an Il 2 attack, their supply plane was distroyed and some Maccki, were also hit.So they left. NO Italian pilot was killed . Again I'm sorry for the confusions I made. |
