Kozachenko Pyotr Konstantinovich 29 Air Victories brought down an ARR HE-112B which at that time was an excellent fighter....who was the ARR pilot ? Here is the report I found on him from the Russian Air Ace reports

He was born on June, 14, 1914 in village Iskorost of the Volynsk province. Has ended 7 classes, 3 rates evening rabfaka. Worked mashinistom. On August, 12, 1934 has been called in Red Army and it is directed in Odessa lyotnuju school.

In July, 1937, in one of the first voluntary groups, Kozachenko has left to China for rendering assistance in struggle against Japan. In fights above a province Wuhan, it has brought down 11 enemy planes, flying on E-16. In China was till May, 1938 and for fighting successes has been awarded with an award of the Red Banner.

Since December 1939 till March, 1940 participated in Sovetsko - the Finnish war. Flying on fighter E-153 Captain Kozachenko has destroyed 4 Finnish planes and became one of the best Soviet pilots in this conflict.

To the beginning of Great Domestic war Major P.K.Kozachenko served in structure of 249-th istrebitelnogo an airshelf and was one of the most experienced Soviet experts who have received baptism of fire in China, in vseoruzhii fighting experience battling on sovetsko - the finnish front: 11 personal victories over China, on the available data, are the absolute result shown by the Soviet pilots - volunteers and in general the pilots battling on the party of China during the antiJapanese war 1937 - 1945.4 victories gained in fights with Finns, though and not a record, but one of the best results achieved in those, " not well-known " to war.

Since the first days of Great Domestic war - again at the front. Already on June, 22, 1941, Koca?aiei with other pilots by planes I-153 stormed coming German armies near Zhitomir. Next day, the group from 7-ie "CHaek", under his command, has intercepted 12 Romanian fighters He-112B of Grupul1 Flotila 5 de Vanatore , trying to attack air station Volgard. Kozachenko has brought down one Not - 112, and his group has come back to base lost-free. Any details on this fight and the ARR pilots and casualties ?

Alex, the pilots who flew the 112 didn't like it.Especialy because of the hight wing loading. No much protection to the pilot and a weak eangine.

Actually it was the other way around: Grupul 5 Vanatoare, Flotila 1 Vanatoare.

For details on Kozachenko's supposed victim look here:

I-153 had a verry good advantage - his maneuvrability. 112b had not his excelent point in maneuvrability - and, one experienced pilot like this one can obtain such a result against one who had little combat experience.

What matters is that the location and time of the claim conincide with the location and time of the loss.

Boris Safonov disapperead in his P-40 on 30 May 1942 over the Barents Sea at the other end of the Eastern Front. He only fought in the northern sector. Besides Ismail was still well behind Axis lines in 1943 and it would seem very, very improbable that a Soviet fighter would venture there.

Victor, here is something you would like to check out and verify authenticity . The Russian ace Capt .Yevstigneyev Cyril Alekseevich (52 air kills ) shot down various ARR planes ..I am not sure if the FW-190's were also ARR's , can you double check ? The russian records do not state if ARR or Luftwaffe. From A Pair of Aces by Hermann Graff . On his unifirm I see a cross ..can u identify it ? is it the British one ?

AIR KILL DATE AIRCRAFT TYPE Location
Nr
29 23.03.1944 BF-109 ARR IASI
29.04.1944 JU-87 ARR IASI
14.04.1944 FW-190 IASI
24.04.1944 FW-190 IASI
28.04.1944 JU-87 ARR IASI
34 28.04.1944 FW-190 IASI

Also Lt Kybkalow (27 air kils) has scored several Roumanian JU-88 and DO-111 and 3 ME-109 near Odessa and Sevastopol...do you have any details on his air kills ? I couldnt find any appropriate records on the ARR aircrafts and dates. Here what the Russian records say about him in a rather bad English :

Despite of very complex weather conditions (low overcast and periodically blowing, Luftvaffe operated very efficiently is quite clear, as the great bulk of parts Vermahta taking place in Crimea has been borrowed in osade Sevastopol which defenders by this time already could reflect two storms. At the same time, it is necessary to note, that German command, at all not having large reserves, could locate rather quickly was outlined break and soon struggle has accepted item character. Especially persistent fights were developed for Feodosiya. Above this small Crimean city on January, 1, 1942 also has accepted the first fight sergeant Michael Kibkalov engaging Roumanian and Germany fighters .....
