On this site : http://www.hungary.com/corvinus/lib/montgo...go/montgo15.htm
I found this affirmation:

"The Regent rejected the ultimatum outright. Hitler had expected that; everything was prepared for a lightning blow. At midnight from March 18 to 19, powerful German forces numbering eleven divisions and including blinded trains, motorized guns and the heaviest "tiger" tanks crossed from Austria into Hungarian territory and reached Budapest at four o'clock in the morning. Simultaneously, Hungarian airfields were invaded by paratroopers, who met with only slight resistance since all the Hungarian forces were concentrated on the eastern and southeastern borders of Hungary. Fearing retaliation by these troops, the Germans, assisted by Rumanian troops, closed off the eastern half of Hungary on the line of the River Tisza to prevent their contact with Budapest and kept up this control for several weeks."

Could someone give some more detailed information about ? It is true or not? What was the involvement of the Romanian Army in this situation?

Nope. Hitler wanted this(and Slovaks also), but his E-European experts suggested, that it would be a very bad solution. It would be a real war, not just 30 killed Germans.

And this was in March 1944? Very interesting. I never though that the Romanians participated in operation Margaret I! :?:

As Csaba said, Rumanian troops did not participate in the occupation of Hungary, in March 1944.

No. Not the corvinus' page is wrong "again"(???) The statement was from Montgomery's book, it was Montgomery's mistake.

Many of the statements there cannot be assimilated by any true Romanian, that's why. Some of them are pure propaganda. I do not want to discuss this anymore, but see the thing "Hungarian specialists in Romanian history"( :!: ) or in the history of every of its neighbours...

Yes, it contains some half-truths mainly in ancient history, WWII, and the post-war régime. But those who wrote it do not pretend being specialists.

i may presume that that site DOES NOT CHECK the information it writes down... As soon as it that information is about the Hungarian history, that site did not check the information and did not "erased" the Romanian involvement ... Right?
If it was Montgomery's mistake... why did they published it? as soon as it was about the Hungarian history? and it was not true...
This statement was not something like saying that it was about 31 Tiger tanks not 32 ... It is a major statement...

Nope. It is an old book, written by the American ambassador and this page published it also(I think the whole text of the book, without any comments). What kind of Hungarian propaganda?
If you want to give to the internet a whole book, you re-write it at first?? Bah... You must be joking.

Actually the Rumanian page contains huge mistakes (or nice tales  ), not half-truths, and in the general text (a big different!)
