Hi,

on 19th November 1942, a "Detachment Mateias" of the 14. Romanian Infantry Division was assigned to the 5. Romanian Infantry Division.

Is there any info on the strength, composition and commander of this grouping?

Also, what was its fate? Did it end up with Lascar, or did it make it to the Chir?

Your help would be appreciated.
Best,

Abel

In the evening of 19 November, the remnants of the 6th Vânători Regiment (14th Infantry Division), about 15 officers and 400 soldiers, plus several artillery batteries, gathered around the command post of the regiment, commanded by Colonel Emil Matiaş. During the night and in the morning of 20 November, the group moved south-east, until it made junction with the troops of the 5th Infantry Division, remaining in the encirclement of General Lascar Group.
